About Us

Dear Client,

Thank you for considering HMS Elevator for your building's accessibility needs. I see this not as a business of machinery or installations but of solutions. Solutions that allow visitors to your school, library, church or building to be comfortable and safe despite age or physical impairment. To me, creating a barrier-free building is important.

I grew up on a farm in Gridley, IL, with my family; that family included my uncle, who became paralyzed in a swimming accident. I witnessed firsthand the potential for barriers that would prohibit my uncle from achieving a full life
At the time of his accident there were no companies to call or products designed to remedy our situation. My family and I began creating and constructing solutions for my uncle, improvising ramps before such a thing even existed for order. These makeshift ramps allowed my uncle to get in and out of the house and helped him achieve greater independence.

Eventually, I left the family farm to attend college and went on to have a corporate career. However, my experiences with creating home solutions stayed with me, and my true passion remained helping people remain mobile regardless of their physical impairment or age. I started my business in 2004 to help people like my uncle and families like my own.

HMS Elevator stands out among the variety of other installers because we carry a wide range of products that allow us to craft a personal solution, tailor-made for your home or business. All of our business modifications are ADA compliant. At HMS Elevator we ensure high quality performance by doing all of our own work. Unlike other contractors, making homes and businesses accessible is the only thing we do. From sales to design, installation and service, we are your answer to staying at home.

Sincerely,
Mike Cleary

"Mike had written me an estimate of what the job required as far as labor and materials and told me how long he expected the work to take. All expectations were met and was completed in the time he quoted. The bathroom turned out better than I had expected."
